NFL Week 4 Picks and Fantasy Watches

2 Oct

Last week, we brought you point spreads for Week 3 and we have spreads for this week. I’m going to try something different in giving picks for each game and the player to watch for Fantasy Football purposes.

NFL Week 4 Point Spreads

30 Sep

Maybe I’ll improve every week. After going 6-9 with one push in the first week, I scored a 9-7 last week. A three game improvement I’ll take it. I’ll get right to the picks this week. I’m pressed for time and really hungry. I’ll give you one sentence for each game (one word is possible) about why I’m picking the way I am. Let’s get to it.

The J. Cole Conundrum: Cole World: The Sideline Story Album Review

29 Sep

I’m back bitch, back with an attitude – J. Cole “Cost Me A Lot”

Yea, yea, yea. I’m back to writing articles on this site and I’m going to write more often … honestly. And what better topic to come back with than what has been the talk of twitter and the music blogs, J. Cole’s debut album called Cole World: The Sideline Story. With the debut album going to be number 1 on the Billboard charts this week, I want to take a look at this highly anticipated album to see if the hype is warranted for the first artist that Jay-Z’s label, Roc Nation.

Pearl Jam Tournament Bracket (Part Two)

29 Sep

We continue on with our Pearl Jam song bracket, today tackling the Sam Perkins region. Yesterday, we took a look at the Shawn Kemp region, whittling it down to the third seed Better Man up against the eight seed State of Love and Trust. Like I said, we’ll reveal the final four in the fourth part to this series, which will come Saturday at the earliest or Monday at the latest.

Pearl Jam Tournament Bracket (Part One)

28 Sep

In honor of their 20th anniversary (and the release of the movie Pearl Jam Twenty), I definitely wanted to do something Pearl Jam related. I saw the film last week with my girlfriend when it came out and I give it two emphatic thumbs up. I was considering doing one of my #BandsYouNeedToSeeLiveBeforeYouDie posts, but yet I didn’t think this enough would encompass the full scope of Pearl Jam’s career. I will do one in the future, just not right now.

Instead, I decided to undertake something so time consuming and so obsessive-compulsive that only I would be able to undertake such a burden. I got this idea from a Tool message board that I am a part of, as well as a blog post who did this for Jay-Z songs. I picked 64 Pearl Jam songs, via Last.fm, live shows, personal favorites, fan favorites, etc. and ordered them, split them into four groups and have them battle it out, March Madness style. This is a completely subjective task, yet I welcome all of you to put your thoughts in the comment box. I am going to split this into four posts and I’ll post one each day for the next four days. One bracket a day. On day four, the fourth post, I’ll have the final four battle it out. So keep up with the Strong Move for the next few days.

The Strong Move NFL Week 3 Power Rankings

27 Sep

Lions and tigers and…Bills?! Oh my indeed (unless of course, you’ve been following this blog for a few weeks now). Lots of shakeups this week in the power rankings with the sample size now growing to three games. Things are now coming into focus for a lot of teams. I don’t expect these rankings to represent how this will stand in Week 17 (for really good lolz, check out the playoff standings at ESPN.com) but this is where each team stands three weeks into the season.

NFL Week 3 Point Spreads

23 Sep

We’re officially one week away from me pulling a George Costanza and going with the opposite of all of my picks. Though I will say this, last week was my first week of ever picking against the spread with NFL games. So I guess I have a lot to learn. Turns out I was 6-9-1, not a good record by any stretch, but I’ll take it. Another poor showing this week and we’re in trouble. Let’s get to the picks.
